Job Description

Remain active throughout shift, operating mixing equipment and lifting heavy material. Must have open shift availability due to flexible production demands.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Able to run all mixing equipment

  • Issue all materials to orders

  • Use production orders and formula sheets. Monitor equipment of blenders

  • 5S Cleanliness of work area

  • Ensure participation and cooperation in company implemented ESHA programs. Follow all company safety rules

Other Functions

  • Transfer blended material into specified containers

  • Use appropriate handling equipment to load machines and move finished material.

  • Cross-train in blending functions within the area

Under general supervision the machine operator performs essential duties to ensure that parts are machined to the proper specifications. Candidate may also work closely with the Engineering and Assembly personnel to assist in process trouble-shooting as well as evaluate the quality of the finished product.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviews set up documents and specifications to determine setup procedure, machining sequence and dimensions

  • Reads complex blueprints, bill of materials and other specifications to determine product requirements

  • Assemble cutting tools in tool holders and position in machine spindles as specified using hand tools or insert cutting tools

  • Selects fixtures, part holding, and tooling to machine parts as necessary

  • Adjust machine speeds and feeds and change cutters to machine parts according to specifications

  • Confirms conformance of finished work to specifications, using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and gauges

  • Identifies workmanship and material defects and deficiencies and initiates program changes when required

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Produce parts and tools from metal, plastic or other materials using a press brake.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use blueprints or plans to create finished product

  • Make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut

  • Ensure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product.

  • Stock machines with needed materials, ensure maintenance, and perform periodic checks on output.

  • Inspect finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production.

Machine Operator / Assembler

JOB DESCRIPTION

Operate a variety of production machines and perform various assembly operations either manually or by using various pieces of production equipment.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Move controls to position tool and work-piece in relation to each other, and to set feeds, speeds, and depth of cut
  • Observe operation and regulate tool position and action
  • Verify conformance of machined work-pieces to specifications
  • Assemble small parts or assemblies either by hand or by using various production equipment and machines
  • Observe machine operation to detect machine malfunction
  • Measure work-piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work-piece
  • Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work-pieces

Paint Booth Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Work from manufacturing orders, verbal or written instructions to demonstrate proficiency in a variety of paint booth operations. Paint in an enclosed but ventilated paint booth with exhaust system. When required, climb and paint from a 12-foot ladder.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply paint using spray pots

  • Understand quality procedures and specifications

  • Make simple machine adjustments and changeovers

Plastic Extrusion Set-up and Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Set up, maintain, and operate plastic extrusion machine to consistently produce high-quality plastic parts.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Select machine dies
  • Determine setup procedures
  • Draw or press metal into shapes and diameters
  • Reel extruded products into rolls
  • Specify lengths and weights of rolls
  • Replace worn dies
  • Set controls to regulate vacuum, air pressure, sizing rings, and temperature
  • Synchronize speed of extrusion
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Locate defects on extruded products
  • Check for conformance to specifications
  • Adjust controls as necessary
  • Splice cables
  • Install, connect, test, and adjust equipment
  • String lines or install terminal boxes
  • Clean tools
  • Position insulation over conductors
  • Seal splices with moisture-proof covering

Die Casting Machine Set-up and Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION

Set up and operate diecasting machine to cast parts such as automobile trim, carburetor housings, and motor parts from nonferrous metals such as zinc, aluminum, or magnesium by performing the following duties.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lift specified die sections into the machine
  • Bolt die sections in position and adjust stroke of ram
  • Connect water hose to cooling system of die
  • Preheat die sections with torch or electric heater
  • Turn valves and set dials to regulate flow of water circulating through die and to control speed of machine, based on size and structure of part being cast and type and temperature of metal being used
  • Blow metal fragments from die surfaces and brush lubricant into die cavity and onto plunger
  • Hand ladle molten metal into chamber of machine when operating cold chamber machine
  • Push button to close and lock dies, and activate plunger to force molten metal into die cavities
  • Remove casting after dies open automatically
  • Inspect casting for defects
  • Dip castings in water to cool them
  • Load metal ingots into melting furnace, and transfer molten metal to heated reservoir of diecasting machine
  • Other duties as assigned

Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school OR six months to one year related experience and/or training, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
