Maintenance Coordinator

Job Description

The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair work, as well as assisting in the safety and security of the building, grounds and all people in the workplace.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform and assist in maintenance and repair of the building, equipment and machines
  • Meet with contractors to estimate repairs and cost and schedule approved repairs
  • Take care of all facilities related needs, including working with vendors
  • Perform daily safety and security checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment and eliminate all hazards and security issues
  • Responsible for designing, coordinating and implementing safety training, procedures, rules and regulations, including warning violators of infractions and emergency preparedness
  • Conduct incident investigations to help analyze and document accidents and/or near-miss incidents to determine causes and how accidents might be prevented in the future
  • Sound appropriate alarms and/or call emergency services as needed in case of events such as fire, tornado, accident or presence of unauthorized persons and serve as first responder when emergencies arise
  • Serve as first responder when alarm system is triggered
  • Support Safety Committee
  • Order and stock first aid supplies
  • Communicate recommendations to improve safety, security and maintenance
  • Provide assistance to employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
  • Additional duties and responsibilities to be determined

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One to two years’ general maintenance experience preferred
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly and efficiently while remaining calm and professional
  • Ability to assess and resolve repair and maintenance issues, including the ability to operate a variety of hand tools
  • Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Communication skills to clearly provide information in writing, by phone or in person  Ability to coordinate processes and work well with various departments
  • Self-starter with a high productivity level
  • Sense of urgency and attention to detail while working within deadlines
  • Customer service skills
  • Forklift license preferred, but not required


While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to lift/carry an average of 30 pounds and move up to 165 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach, twist, squat, bend and sit, often for long periods of time. The employee may be exposed to varying temperatures and must be able to perform physical tasks in hot and cold areas of the warehouse.
